Villa D'Andrea in Albanazzo, open June–October.
Villa D'Andrea stands as a restored Sicilian estate in Caltagirone, a UNESCO-recognized ceramics center renowned for its 250 steps of decorated maiolica.
Originally constructed as a private residence, the villa has been thoughtfully renovated to function as a boutique hotel while preserving its period architecture and regional character.
The property offers 900 square meters of space across manicured grounds, providing an authentic backdrop for ceremonies and receptions in southeastern Sicily.
From the very beginning, we were amazed by the hospitality from everyone in Villa D'Andrea. Sig. Luigi welcomed us outside the check in hours, as we had unexpected issues with our rental car, without even mentioning it. The breakfasts were amazing - we got spoiled by Sig.ra Pina with various cakes every morning, accompanied by home made jams, cookies and much more. The pool was clean and with a beautiful view, and we were provided sunbeds as soon as we approached the pool. Even though we were planning on having dinner elsewhere each day, we have decided to stay in and try out the specialties of Villa, all prepared with home grown ingredients. From cold cuts, over pasta to pizza and meat dishes, everything, without an exception was extraordinary. As a favourite, I would point out Paccheri with pistachio cream and bacon - although everything was extra delicious, this dish has a special place in my heart (and stomach). What made all our evenings even better was Nero d'Avola wine made by Sg. Luigi's son, Francesco. So much so, that we have left some of our belongings on Sicily, simply to make space in our suitcases to take the wine back home. Apart from making delicious wine, Francesco, along with his father, brothers and the rest of the staff, has put great effort into making us feel special and cared for, constantly checking in on us, offering advice and seeking feedback. Not only have we found perfect accommodation at Villa D'Andrea, but also a place which we will gladly come back to, and people we can call our friends. There are no words with which we could express our gratitude to everyone at Villa D'Andrea for making this vacation unforgettable.
