An eleventh-century estate on the cliff edge above Ravello, rebuilt from 1904 by Lord Grimthorpe as a garden villa and run today as a nineteen-room hotel by the Vuilleumier family.
Couples come for one thing above all: the Terrace of Infinity, a marble balustrade lined with busts that ends in nothing but the Gulf of Salerno, three hundred and fifty metres down.
Ceremonies happen there or in the cloister, and dinner moves to the rose walk, the Moorish tea room or the lawns.
Weddings run as a full buyout of the hotel, so the property is yours for the weekend and your closest guests sleep in it.

Can you actually get married on the Terrace of Infinity?+
Yes, and it is the most photographed ceremony spot in Italy for a reason. It carries a separate hire fee from the ceremony lawn, quoted by guest count, so budget the terrace as its own line whether you use it for vows, for the aperitivo or for both.
Do you have to book the whole hotel?+
For a wedding, yes. Villa Cimbrone runs celebrations as an exclusive buyout of its nineteen rooms and suites. Guests beyond that number stay in Ravello, which is a five to ten minute walk away, so a hundred-guest wedding still needs rooms in town.
How do guests reach Villa Cimbrone on the day?+
On foot. There is no road to the villa. Cars and coaches stop in Ravello and everyone walks about ten minutes along a level stone path through the old town. Luggage goes ahead by porter, and a golf buggy can usually be arranged for guests who cannot manage the walk.
Is the food cooked at the villa?+
No. Villa Cimbrone has no event kitchen, so wedding catering is brought in by one of the approved Amalfi Coast caterers. That is normal here and the planners on the coast do it every weekend, but it means your food budget is a separate contract from your venue fee.
When is the season on this stretch of coast?+
May to early October. August is hottest, most expensive and slowest to drive through, and most venues here close between November and March.
