The Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, Curio Collection byHilton

I had a wonderful 3 night stay here during October half term break with my children ages 12 and 14. We were impressed by the amazing selection of delicious food at the breakfast and dinner buffet. We all had different food likes/dietary requirements and there was more than enough selection for all of us. We were also impressed by the top quality dessert offerings every night. The main pool which was not only heated to a comfortable temperature but also had a beautiful view. We also loved our fabulous suite which had plenty of room for 3 of us including 2 separate bathrooms and a beautiful patio with an infinity plunge pool. Although it was too cold to use our pool, it was so nice to sit outside and play cards or relax on our private terrace and listen to the running water in the pool while looking out to the sea. It was easy to spend a lot of time just hanging out in our room. That being said, the resort is a nice manageable size-big enough to find different areas to explore but small enough to get around easily. The one thing I feel it was lacking was a teen “lounge” where they could hang out and/or meet other teenage kids, there is really only the kids club for the younger ones. But our teens were fine to walk around and explore the resort on their own and also pop into the nightly music events in the lobby bar. I only gave 4 stars for location because the resort is close to a main road and although you can't really see the cars I feel like I could always hear them. Not intrusively, kind of more like a background hum. Also you have to take a car down to the beach which didn't seem that scenic, especially on an overcast day, so we didn't bother to spend time there. To end on a positive note, at check-in they noticed it was my birthday and the hotel sent up a bottle of sparkling wine and a cake to my room which was a lovely and much appreciated surprise, 5-star treatment!
