The Inn at SpanishBay

Let me start by saying I am writing a review about "The Lobby Lounge." I say this because we were not staying at the hotel itself so the review is not about the hotel. We had heard about the bagpiper at sunset and decided to head over, from our Vrbo, to see the hotel, the beautiful view and the bagpiper. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We asked the front desk where we could sit outside and have drinks and appetizers while waiting for the bagpiper to play at sunset. We decided to go with The Lobby Lounge which had outdoor seating and firepits. It was exactly what we were looking for. We stepped outside to the lounge area and saw the waiters standing around as they were not busy yet. There were 4 of us, in our party, and not one waiter acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. Instead they turned away and continued their conversations with each other. One waiter even walked right by us to go thru the same doors we came in thru and looked at us and continued thru the door. Since no one approached us, I started to walk over to the two waiters (one male and one female) who were talking to each other and looking in our direction but making no effort to come over and help us. Even when they saw me approach, they continued talking and slightly turned away from me. I literally had to interrupt them even though they clearly saw me. I asked them if we could just seat ourselves...etc. They literally looked so annoyed to the point I had to ask if they were open yet which they replied and said they were open. The vibe from the entire staff was just so off the entire night. The one waiter who ignored us, Surya, ended up serving us. He brought us the wrong drinks and when I told him he brought us the wrong drinks, I literally had to convince him he brought us the wrong drinks. He was not happy but I did not care. He brought us the wrong drinks! LOL. This is just a snippet of what we dealt with. Getting his attention for anything we needed was always an effort. We laughed because the only time Surya became attentive is when I asked him for the bill and he knew it was "tip" time. For what you pay to eat and drink there, the service needs to be WAY BETTER. On another note, the bagpiper was amazing. The staff inside the hotel is amazing.
