Centrella Hotel, A Kirkwood CollectionHotel

Just got back from our trip to PG and the Centrella Hotel. The hotel itself was lovely a little worn down but still charming... and the service was also very warm and inviting however the room had something left to be desired. All and all it was nice but there were some things that really needed to be changed. We stayed in room #24 which is sold as a “partial ocean view” it’s more like a speck of an ocean view. It does have some nice views of the mountains though. The room itself was spacious, more like a suite with two rooms. One smaller room with a not so comfortable fold out sofa and a desk with a refrigerator that we had to unplug because it was so loud. Our room was also pretty loud as it was at the top of the stairs and we could hear everything in the hallways as the walls are very thin. They definitely need to upgrade the fridge to a newer model. The tv was in that room and no tv was in the room with the bed unfortunately. They really need to put one in the other room as well. Also the layout of the rooms was a little funky because the bathroom is in between the two rooms so you need to go through it to access either room. The worst part of the room was the bed. The bed-frame was an old metal frame that creaked loudly when you would even roll to one side while sleeping. And the old mattress was slightly soft and springy. Overall it was a pleasant stay and perhaps there are some other rooms that are better. We paid a little over $500 for one night to stay in that room for Valentine's day which included tax. Definitely way too much for the quality of that room. Also this is not a true Bed and Breakfast as they do not serve a full breakfast...only store bought bagels and pastries. They do make a yogurt parfait that is very good but it's definitely not a full breakfast. The coffee could be a little higher quality as well and they only had artificial coffee mate creamer and no half and half and no natural cane sugar only white refined sugar. These small touches really could make the offerings a bit more elevated. I'm really not sure if I would stay there again.
