My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon at The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu, and we are still floating from the experience. This stunning property, beautifully restored from a historic school building, exceeded every expectation and made our stay in Kyoto truly magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff delivered impeccable, top-notch service that felt warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. Special shoutout to the incredible hotel manager, Robert Robinson, and the general manager, Takanori Muroi, their personal touches and genuine care elevated our honeymoon to something far beyond what we could have hoped for. They truly made us feel celebrated and cared for every step of the way. The rooftop bar (K36 The Bar & Rooftop) is exquisite – sipping cocktails with breathtaking panoramic views of Kyoto’s skyline, including Yasaka Pagoda and the historic Higashiyama district, was the perfect way to end each day. The food throughout the hotel was divine, from elegant meals to creative drinks, all prepared with such precision and flavor. The location couldn’t be better – just an 8-10 minute walk to the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and surrounded by the charming streets of Higashiyama with endless shopping, traditional crafts, and incredible local restaurants right at your doorstep. It’s the ideal spot to immerse yourself in Kyoto’s beauty and energy. We are 100% booking here again on our next trip to Kyoto – no question. If you’re looking for a luxurious, historic, and heartfelt stay in the heart of Kyoto, especially for a special occasion like a honeymoon, The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu is perfection. 5 stars aren’t enough!
