I wrote the review in booking.com surprisingly it only appeared my star rating and the rest are missing, here I post again in google. [Overall & Service] Overall, the stay was acceptable. The reception staff provided a warm welcome, and the welcome tea and snacks were a nice, delicious touch. The team is friendly and their English proficiency is commendable. [The Room] Our corner room was a highlight, offering a rare sense of privacy with a small courtyard. However, the architectural layout is puzzling—most other rooms seem to face the walkway or are uncomfortably close to neighbors, which would have significantly impacted other stay. [The Lounge Issue] This is where the experience fell short of a NT$18,000/night standard. At 5:00 PM, the coffee machine in the cafe was out of milk, and every single snack plate was empty. For a luxury establishment, this lack of basic maintenance is unacceptable. [The Dining Experience] The culinary quality was shockingly inconsistent. • Day 1: The dinner was a major disappointment. While I understand small portions in fine dining, serving "stir-fried peanuts with brown sugar" as the first course—to be eaten by hand after the cutlery was removed—felt out of place. The rest of the meal was simply subpar. • Day 2: Strangely, the quality improved drastically. Dishes like the squid, shrimp, fish, and truffle risotto were excellent. It felt like a completely different kitchen. Caviar, which required an extra charge on Day 1, was served in a soba dish on Day 2. This inconsistency is baffling. • Child-friendliness: I would not recommend this for families. My son’s salmon rice ball that had a strong fishy odor, which he couldn't eat. [Conclusion] Visiting in February meant there were few activities available, yet the premium pricing remained. Given the inconsistency in dining and the lack of attention to detail in the lounge, I find it hard to recommend this hotel over other luxury options in the same price bracket.
