We're just back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Rhodes staying in the Horizon City hotel. I'm sure it would have been a good holiday anyway but it was the hotel that made the stay really special. Our very comfortable air conditioned room with a great shower, small fridge, and a sunny balcony overlooking the port but not itself overlooked. I liked to get an early breakfast and then spend the rest of the morning catching some rays and watching the comings and goings of the various ferries, cruise ships, and day trippers. The breakfast buffet was excellent with hot and cold, sweet and savoury options available. I loved the coffee machines. The staff were very diligent when it came to clearing the tables and you never came down to a sea of clutter with nowhere to sit. The food in the evenings was also good and we ate there a few times, especially when the 2 for 1 cocktails were on. It was good to know that we always had a safe option in the hotel if we couldn't find anything in the old town. I have absolutely no complaints but would mention the table on the balcony can be a bit unstable when a big guy leans his elbow on it. Luckily no damage was done but a glass could easily have hit the floor. People who book a sea view room may be disappointed if they get a balcony that looks onto the roof paraphernalia of the building opposite. You can just see it to the left of my pictures.
