Mickey Muennig designed the 39 rooms to disappear into the hillside: tree houses on stilts, ocean houses under grass roofs, a coast house cut into the slope.
It is adults only, everyone here is 18 or over, and there is no television and almost no phone signal.

How many guests can get married at Post Ranch Inn?+
Forty is the ceiling. The Grand Wedding Package covers up to 35 guests, the site fee brackets run to 40, and a ten-guest package exists for the smallest parties. This is not a venue that scales to a hundred.
What does a wedding at Post Ranch Inn cost?+
Published site fees are $5,000 for ten guests, $10,000 for 11 to 24 and $20,000 for 24 to 40. Room rates and dining are separate, and a redwood grove ceremony requires booking one of the freestanding houses for the night.
Can children come to a wedding at Post Ranch Inn?+
No. The inn is adults only and the minimum age for any guest is 18, wedding parties included. If your guest list has children in it, this is the wrong property and there is no exception to ask for.
How do guests get to Big Sur?+
Monterey Regional Airport is about 50 minutes north on Highway 1, San Jose is around two and a half hours and San Francisco is three and a quarter. Everyone drives the last stretch, and there is no public transport worth planning around.
What happens if Highway 1 is closed?+
It closes most winters after storms, sometimes for months at a time, and detours can add hours or cut access entirely from one direction. Check Caltrans before you set a date between December and March, and again a week out.
Is there mobile signal at the property?+
Barely. Coverage on the ridge is patchy to absent and the rooms have no televisions, which is part of the point. Send guests their arrival details in writing before they lose signal north of Carmel.
