07 · Questions

Asked along the way.

How many guests can Ocean House hold?+

The Seaside Ballroom seats 180 for dinner and dancing and holds 250 for a standing reception. Ceremonies happen on the lawn above the beach or on the sand, and smaller weddings use the lawn and terrace alone.

What does a wedding at Ocean House cost?+

The published site fee for the Seaside Ballroom is $8,500. Reported wedding pricing starts around $30,000 for an off-peak date and $120,000 for a peak one, and a full peak-weekend buyout of the hotel starts near $750,000.

Can we buy out the hotel?+

Yes, and it is the most expensive way to do this. A peak-weekend buyout is reported from around $750,000. Off-peak buyouts cost considerably less, and most couples take a room block and a single event space instead.

Which airport should guests fly into?+

T. F. Green in Providence is about an hour away and has the best regional connections. Boston Logan is roughly two hours and JFK about three. Westerly State Airport is ten minutes away for private aircraft.

When is the season in Watch Hill?+

June to early October, and the peak Saturdays inside that window are held a year and a half in advance. May and late October are quieter and cheaper, with the Atlantic cold enough that the beach becomes scenery rather than a swim.

What is there for guests to do?+

The private beach, the 1880s Flying Horse Carousel at the bottom of Bay Street, sailing out of Watch Hill harbour, and Napatree Point for a walk. Newport is an hour east if guests want a day with more in it.
