Old Monterey Inn in CA 93940, open JuneOctober.

Built in 1910 as a private mansion, Old Monterey Inn underwent extensive restoration to preserve its California Colonial architecture while adding modern hospitality amenities.

The historic property sits on Martin Street in the heart of Monterey's downtown, offering couples an authentic venue rooted in early 20th-century character.

With 10 individually designed guest rooms and multiple event spaces, the inn accommodates both intimate ceremonies and larger receptions within its restored walls.

Insanely expensive for what it has to offer. 370$ for their cheapest room, for a bed and breakfast. The place is very cute and all, but just not worth the cost for us. The breakfast is lovely especially in pictures but its not a buffet so you only get one pre-decided item maybe you dont like it. The innkeeper left after breakfast and although I called them to inform about late checkout (1h) no one picked up and had to leave VM (on site service is very limited even during day as its bnb), the housekeeping lady was very rude when she came to the room and screamed “get out” at us. Innkeeper was similarly rude. Courtesy towards guests is down-low as there is no perceived obligation as with a hotel. The Chawton was very small for a couple. The only redeeming things for us was the friendliest cat I ever met + the room fireplace. Low value for money.
