Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes in Bordeaux, open JuneNovember.

Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes rises as a contemporary five-star hotel within a restored 18th-century Carmelite convent in the heart of Bordeaux's historic Saint-Pierre district.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views across the Garonne River and manicured courtyard gardens, while soaring ceilings and minimalist interiors create theatrical spaces for ceremonies and receptions.

The venue sits at 81 Cours du Médoc, steps from UNESCO-listed architecture and world-class wine cellars.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. From check in to check out the staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. The room design and layout were perfect and the bathroom and bed were both well appointed. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices and the restaurant was amazing for dinner. The staff was friendly, kind, accommodating and patient as we our French was limited but they were patient with us throughout our stay. The location is convenient to the river but a little farther away from the old town. (A short and inexpensive Uber ride). The location is away from The crowds and traffic so it’s a much quieter and peaceful setting. The only disappointment was scheduling a spa treatment. We were unable to make an appointment while there even though I had messaged the hotel that it was a special birthday celebration for my wife. The message was to schedule the treatment upon arrival. Unfortunately there were no convenient times remaining when we arrived. We highly recommend this property if you are spending a few days in Bordeaux.
