We are so grateful to have celebrated our wedding at Masseria Mangiato on 4 October. From the moment our planner, Leonardo Amando (Instagram @leoamando.wedding), took us around six venues near Alberobello, this one stood out — and thankfully we booked it. Masseria Mangiato was the first venue we visited, and we immediately fell in love with its authentic charm. Nothing else quite compared. As a UK-based couple, we wanted our venue to feel traditional and true to the region, and this masseria has that in abundance: trulli, a beautiful chapel, a characterful barn, and a courtyard strung with fairy lights. It ticked every box. What makes Masseria Mangiato truly special is not just the setting, but the depth of its character. It dates back to 1557, making it one of the most historic farms in the Valle d’Itria. Its architectural complex includes a chapel from 1559 and even a genuine underground olive mill, echoing its past as a working estate. The 27 authentic trulli and the surrounding countryside added a quiet kind of magic to our day. The owner, Luigi, is wonderful — warm, responsive, and always happy to help with any questions we had in the lead-up. His animals also added to the charm: horses, dogs, and cats. One of his cats even joined us in the barn during the speeches, which our guests adored. A truly magical venue: warm, authentic, peaceful, and rich with history. If you’re looking for a place that blends historic character with rustic elegance and a relaxed countryside atmosphere, Masseria Mangiato is our wholehearted recommendation.
