Masseria Mavùgliola in Locorotondo, open June–October.
Masseria Mavùgliola sits atop the rolling hills of Locorotondo, where whitewashed trulli houses dot the Itria Valley landscape and centuries-old olive groves stretch toward the horizon.
This restored 18th-century estate commands panoramic views across the Puglian countryside, with terraced gardens and stone archways framing the Adriatic light.
The venue's limestone architecture and sprawling grounds offer the raw beauty of southern Italy's agricultural heritage.
We discovered this ancient masseria by chance, at a friend's wedding, and we felt in love with it so much that we chose it as the venue for our own wedding celebration, last July. Given that the venue itself is a typically Apulian setting with red earth and trulli buildings (UNESCO heritage), we also found the quality of the proposed menu to be very high, leaving all our guests satisfied. Compared to similar venues in the area, Masseria Mavugliola has its own kitchen and doesn't rely on outside caterers, and that's already a big difference. The prices are also more than competitive, but above all, the difference for us was Emanuele, the owner. With his patience in listening to our requests (quite a lot) and his attention to details, we created exactly what we had in our mind for that special day. In short: I absolutely recommend it!
