This hotel has a lot going for it - a nice location, very peaceful surroundings in a nice neighbourhood. I unfortunately had to mark the location down as it is quite a walk from the nearest RER station - if you are driving, this may not be an issue. Located about 15 minutes walk is the centre of Rueil-Malmaison, which has some nice shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as some excellent boulangeries, and other food vendors. The hotel does have a restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner, except on a Sunday night it is closed. I didn’t have any food in the hotel other than breakfast (which was basic, but seemed to be high quality), and a chocolate cake which was divine. Unfortunately I am afraid to say that the hotel was badly let down by its facilities. Firstly, the shower in my room was cold, and the knob to adjust the temperature didn’t work. Someone from maintenance came but was only able to adjust the temperature to one setting - meaning the water temperature could not be adjusted. The shower head was also poorly positioned over the bath and it made showering very awkward and unpleasant. These problems could not be resolved during my stay and as I had already unpacked my belongings I did not want to move to another room - although this was offered, which is something. During my stay, the health suite was to all intents and purposes out of service. On the day I checked in, only the steam room was functional, but on the second day neither the steam room, the sauna, nor the pool were working. This was incredibly disappointing as I was really looking forward to using the spa areas. In spite of the above, I can honestly say that the staff I encountered at the hotel were incredibly helpful and pleasant. They did their best to try and resolve the issue with the shower, and anything else I needed, they were great. I would stay here again but I would try and ensure I got a room where the shower was working properly.
