Le Grand Quartier in Paris.
Le Grand Quartier stands apart as a converted 19th-century Parisian hotel that prioritizes industrial-chic authenticity over ornate tradition, featuring original exposed brick and steel beams throughout its 150-person capacity.
Located in the vibrant Canal Saint-Martin neighborhood rather than the typical marais or left bank circuits, the venue offers direct access to waterfront venues and independent bistros.
Guests receive complimentary accommodation for up to 80 rooms within the hotel's restored wings, fundamentally changing destination wedding economics.
We had a really enjoyable stay overall, with a few things that left us unsure about returning. The location is very central and convenient, which made getting around super easy. That said, the surrounding area felt a bit "sketchy" at times, especially in the evening. Walking around after dark did not always feel completely comfortable. The hotel itself is beautifully designed. The interior, both in the common areas and in the rooms, has a stylish, modern feel that we absolutely loved. The rooftop is also a great touch. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was thoughtfully laid out and had everything we needed. I genuinely loved it. There was even a mini fridge, which we really appreciated, although ours did not seem to cool at all, so maybe we were just unlucky there. One major downside was the sound insulation. It is practically nonexistent. Even though our room faced the inner courtyard and we assumed it would be quiet, we could hear EVERYTHING. People stayed outside late into the night drinking and talking, and it felt like the noise came straight into our room. On a very positive note, the breakfast was amazing. There were plenty of options and the pastries were absolutely incredible. All in all, we had a good experience and loved many aspects of the hotel, especially the design and breakfast. Still, the noise and the neighborhood are making us question whether we would choose to stay here again.
