La Toison d'Or - Riviera Villages in Ramatuelle, open June–September.
Perched on the Côte d'Azur coastline, La Toison d'Or commands sweeping Mediterranean views across the Ramatuelle peninsula, where terraced gardens cascade toward the sea.
The hotel's Belle Époque architecture rises against a backdrop of pine forests and rocky outcrops, positioning guests at the intersection of Provençal countryside and azure water.
Stone facades and manicured grounds create an intimate setting removed from the bustle of larger resort areas.
The location is truly wonderful—right on a beautiful beach where we enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning. The bungalows are surrounded by plants and trees, giving each space a sense of privacy, even without a sea view. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there’s air conditioning in the living room and one of the two bedrooms. On-site, you’ll also find a small market with fresh bread and croissants, a boutique, spa, pools (including a kids’ area), ping pong tables, and parking. However, the rooms were very small and tight—we even had to rent an extra room elsewhere to fit two couples. There’s no room service, and we had to put sheets on the beds ourselves. Towels aren’t replaced, so we had to wash them by hand, and there were no basic amenities like soap or a hair dryer. Considering the high price, the lack of services was disappointing. Overall, the setting is beautiful, but before booking, make sure to ask for all details to avoid surprises.
