An enjoyable stay at a great location. While I want to give 4 stars, I'm torn and decided to give 3 and some constructive feedback. Rooms: we stayed in the renovated/new rooms, which were excellent. Good mattress, glorious shower, shutter to completely darken the room. The motion activated floor light was a welcome feature so you don't stub your toes in the dark. Location: right at the lake Como. Private beach front daybeds, but a lot of foot and bycicle traffic right next to you. It didn't bother us, just mentioning it. Service: very friendly staff. Accomodating to requests. Food: the breakfast was a bit lacking, for my personal taste. I like some bacon and a variety of eggs. Not really a big negative if you know about it in advance. The buffet consists of muesli, yoghurt, cakes, foccacia, meats and cheese, toast and croissants and pastries. The scrambled eggs were a bit wet and runny. Dinner was nice, but not excellent. Whilst enjoyable, I seemed to be missing the authentic, simple but delicious Italianess in it. The dishes were well prepared for sure. I did find the menu a bit limited. Lunch was much more enjoyable, but also a bit limited in options. Feedback: perhaps offer a larger variety during breakfast, with less sweet and more savory options. Whilst dinner is fine, adding Italian dishes that aren't staples like carbonara or risotto, for example arrancini, osso buco, gnocci or penne all'arabiatta would be a welcome addition.
