Hotel BaíaGrande

My partner stayed at the Baia Grande over the first week of November and had a fabulous break. The hotel is set in a rural area a few miles away from Albufeira, about 10 minutes away by car, and just a short walk from a fabulous beach which sports a small cafe that produces excellent meals as well as snacks. The hotel provide a two free buses in to Albufeira in the morning and two collections in the early evening (16:30ish). Reception will call for a taxi if you need one and they appear in a matter of minutes. The hotel has a wonderful reception area with an adjacent piano bar adding to the ambience of the entrance. The rooms are well furnished with very good quality beds (nice thick and comfortable mattresses) and an excellent bathroom. The amenities include 3 pools: 2 outdoor, one being a small pool ideal for toddlers and a very large shaped pool deep enough for swimming, but safe for children to play in. There is also a pool side bar where you can get an hearty sandwich, pizza and other meals. The third pool is a relaxing pool indoors, with three water spray features and bubble seats. There is also a very good sauna and steam room and loungers around the pool. Live music is provided by high quality musicians every evening in the piano bar. The fourth floor of the hotel is an area for relaxation, Some residents played card games, some played chess and some took advantage of the small library. This room leads to a balcony where you can enjoy the view of the surrounding area. The hotel restaurant provides an excellent selection of dishes with options for every pallet. All members of staff in all areas of the are welcoming and pleasant. Andrew, the young greeter at the restaurant door is extremely welcoming, passing a few pleasantries when you enter and/or leave the dining room. Value for money? Absolutely and I highly commend the hotel to people of all ages.
