FONTANARO ORGANIC OLIVE ESTATE, FARMING AND VILLAS - THE COUNTRY SLOW LIVING in Paciano.
Built in the 18th century as a traditional Umbrian farmhouse, Fontanaro Organic Olive Estate has been meticulously restored to preserve its historic stone architecture while introducing modern hospitality amenities.
Today, the property operates as a working organic olive farm and villa complex, maintaining authentic agricultural practices across its 50+ hectares.
This restoration honors the building's pastoral heritage while creating an intimate setting for celebrations rooted in the Italian countryside.
Fontanaro is not just an incedibly beautiful place but its a way of being and spending time and appreciating the beauty of nature that becomes a part of your soul- so much so that once you come here, you will always come back! A very good friend and I came here 10 years ago, and we were greeted by Alina Pinelli who not only offers the most amazing cooking classes but who I consider to be a concierge to the region! She knows everyone and everything that is going on in any village within an hours’ drive, and the best way to enjoy whatever that activity is. Whether its shopping, wine tasting, exploring history, sharing romantic moments with your partner or doing things your children will also love, she will find you what you are looking for or in some cases what you didnt know what you needed or were looking for. Since my first visit, I have returned with groups of friends, family, and most recently with a husband and toddler. Now I can say that Fontanaro is equally as amazing for children- there was nothing more heartwarming than watching my daughter chase lizards and butterflies, discover the textures of different flowers and plants, and pick fruit from the trees and run barefoot in the grass, eyes wide open with every new sensory discovery! And at the end of the day, after time spent swimming in the pool and reading in the hammock, we relax and watch sunset with a meal on the terrace in a comfortable villa with all the comforts you need to sleep well and wake up happy.

Asked along the way.
What makes this estate different from other Tuscan or Umbrian venues?+
Fontanaro operates as a genuine working farm, not a converted estate. Guests experience active olive cultivation, seasonal harvests, and farm-based dining that authentically reflects slow living principles rather than recreating them.
Can guests stay on the property?+
Yes. The estate includes multiple villas for overnight accommodation, enabling multi-day wedding events and allowing guests to experience the full agricultural rhythm of the property.
What is the ceremony capacity?+
The venue accommodates 20-150 guests, with flexible configurations for ceremonies in outdoor farm settings or covered pavilion spaces.
Are events seasonally dependent?+
The property operates year-round, though harvest season (September-November) offers unique opportunities to incorporate olive pressing demonstrations and seasonal farm activities into wedding celebrations.
What cuisines and dietary options are available?+
The estate emphasizes farm-to-table menus using its own organic olive oil, seasonal vegetables, and regional Umbrian specialties. Custom menus accommodate dietary restrictions and guest preferences.
