San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel
Taormina · Hotel
A fourteenth-century Dominican convent on the edge of Taormina, run as a hotel since 1896 and reopened by Four Seasons in July 2021 after a restoration that took it back to the stone. The cloister is still a cloister: two storeys of arches around a garden, and it takes an aperitivo or a seated dinner without any decoration at all. Below it the Belvedere Garden runs along the cliff with Etna on one side and the bay of Taormina on the other, which is the ceremony view and the reason to be here rather than anywhere else in Sicily. The hotel holds 111 rooms and suites, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Principe Cerami, and event spaces the property quotes to 250 and beyond. It also carries a complication worth naming: the second season of The White Lotus was filmed here in 2022, so the hotel is now a destination in its own right and the summer months book accordingly. Taormina itself is a hill town with a pedestrian centre, so guest transfers end at a drop-off and finish on foot.

Aman Rosa Alpina
San Cassiano · Hotel
The Dolomites’ most anticipated reopening: the Pizzinini family’s storied San Cassiano hotel, begun as an 1850 parish house with an osteria, run by three generations into an alpine institution, relaunched in July 2025 as a fully Aman-managed resort after a ground-up redesign by Jean-Michel Gathy. Fifty-one rooms and suites in minimalist alpine register, a double-height arrival lounge, an Aman Spa with three pools, and direct access to Alta Badia’s 1,200 km Dolomiti Superski circuit from the village core. Aman doesn’t publicly market weddings here yet, celebrations are by enquiry, in the mould of Aman’s buyout culture elsewhere, which makes it the collection’s quiet-power play: the newest, most exclusive address in the mountains, two seasons a year, with the Sella group filling every window.

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco
Montalcino, Toscana · Resort
An eight-hundred-year-old borgo on the Via Francigena pilgrim route, its five thousand acres making it one of the largest privately owned estates in Italy, bought in 2003 by fashion scion Massimo Ferragamo and restored into what became, in 2015, Italy’s first Rosewood. Travel + Leisure named it the number-one hotel in the world in 2022. Weddings unfold across the medieval hamlet: ceremony in the frescoed church of San Michele Arcangelo (around fifty guests), receptions in the castle ruins or gardens for up to about two hundred, and a full-resort buyout available when a couple wants all forty-two suites and eleven villas to themselves. The estate’s winery was a founding member of the Brunello di Montalcino consortium in 1967, so the wine list at dinner is the land you’re standing on. In-house wedding specialists run the whole production.

Hotel Villa L’Avvenire
Siena, Toscana · Villa
A nineteenth-century manor house on the northern edge of Siena, built out around an older farmhouse, restored in the 1950s and opened as an eleven-room, adults-only hotel at the end of 2025. Weddings here are exclusive use and nothing else: one event a day and no other guests staying at the villa. The villa takes up to 150 people between its salons and a 9,500 square metre park of holm oaks, limes and pines. Ceremonies happen on the lawn in the shade of a cedar, or under a pergola for a small wedding; drinks move to the travertine-edged pool, and the salons with their coffered ceilings are the rain plan. Below forty guests the whole day is held indoors. Food comes from the villa’s own kitchen, contemporary Italian cooking that leans towards fish. Three things to plan around. Eleven rooms sleep about two dozen people, so most of a large wedding stays elsewhere in Siena and needs transport. The historic centre is closed to traffic and about forty minutes away on foot, so the city’s churches and town hall are a shuttle ride rather than a stroll. And while the villa’s own site offers a civil rite on the lawn, the Comune di Siena’s list of private venues licensed for civil weddings does not include it, so get the legal side confirmed in writing before you build a day around it.
