Cocomo Maldives in Himmafushi 08060, open February–December.
Cocomo Maldives rises from turquoise lagoon waters in Himmafushi, where overwater villas frame 360-degree ocean horizons and white sand beaches curve beneath equatorial skies.
The resort's low-rise architecture keeps sightlines clear to the Indian Ocean, with wooden pathways connecting private sanctuaries across the atoll.
Palm-lined shores and coral gardens create a barefoot backdrop for ceremonies and receptions conducted steps from the water.
We stayed for 8 nights recently with the full board option. Overall, this hotel is newly built and decorated nicely. There are some loungers on the beach, which is just across a small track from the hotel. There sometimes weren’t enough loungers for all guests, but generally we managed to get a seat for the day. The beach is generally nice, but I’d definitely recommend bringing sea-shoes to wear into the water. Insect repellent would also be useful, as we were bitten in the restaurant and around the hotel in the evening. The full board package worked well for us as there is not a huge choice of restaurants on the island and it was easier to just eat at the hotel. Having said that, the food was fine but definitely not great. There is currently a lot of construction underway at the hotel, which didn’t bother us really and you can see huge potential within the next year as they’re building a cafe, more rooms, and a beach bar. The staff were all very very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard. The hotel is also very close to Male, only a 20 minute ferry (which was about 25USD). The staff pick you up from the Himmafushi ferry port which is a really nice touch, and help a lot with transfers. Overall I’d say this was brilliant value for money, and a good option if you’re looking to just relax on the beach and do nothing else.
