01 · In a sentence

Chateau Sainte Colombe in Saint-Geniès-des-Mourgues, open AprilAugust.

Château Sainte Colombe, built in the 18th century as a fortified estate in the Languedoc region, has been meticulously restored to preserve its original stone architecture while accommodating modern celebrations.

The château's multi-generational transformation from a working agricultural property to an exclusive events destination maintains its historic character across 12 hectares of grounds.

Its commanding position overlooking the Mourgues valley provides both intimate ceremony spaces and expansive reception areas.

A nice B&B in an old Chateau. The building is very nice, with clean and large rooms. While the bathrooms are clean and modern, they are 'open' in the room. Thus, you will always be perfectly informed about your partner's state of the digestive system. An enclosed toilette would have been nicer. The pool area is also nice, which has an 'open air kitchen' that could be a bit more clean. The breakfast is a typical French breakfast that is good but not memorable. Also, the owner is nice but also very curious. Expect to be watched all the time you are on the property (except in your room, which she will enter and clean when you are gone). That was a bit much for us, but this is up to personal taste I guess.
