Casa Menezes is a restored heritage Portuguese mansion dating back over 150 years, originally built as a private residence in Batim's historic Tiswaldi Islands.
The property has been carefully preserved to maintain its colonial architecture while introducing modern amenities, creating an authentic Goan setting for celebrations.
Housed within walking distance of Goa Velha's cultural landmarks, the venue offers intimate gatherings against a backdrop of traditional Indo-Portuguese design.
It is a wonderful ancient home that is apparently older than the Taj Mahal. It has been restored painstakingly by the young owner couple, to its original classic form, while retaining most of the original doors, windows, rafters and furniture, properly and painstakingly restored. Even the original latch-lock door bars, with ancient pad locks are classic. The rooms and suites have modern attached bathrooms, built to 4-5 star standard and maintained in a similar fashion. The suite that I stayed in had a small refrigerator and a steel safe to lock valuables. The land in the surroundings have a lot of vegetation and trees to give the location the feel of a hill-station like Coorg (Kodagu) and Ooty.
