Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas in Las Catalinas, open JanuaryApril.

Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas began as a private residential project in 2014, transforming a stretch of pristine Costa Rican coastline into an intimate luxury hotel.

The property was meticulously restored to honor the natural landscape of Playa Danta while introducing contemporary design elements.

This beachfront escape now serves as an exclusive venue where destination weddings unfold against the Pacific Ocean and lush Guanacaste terrain.

It's hard to put into words just how magical and fabulous our stay was at Casa Chameleon. From literally the second we arrived, we were treated like royalty in every imaginable way. The staff is so caring and truly goes above and beyond (special shoutout to Cesare, Andy, and Luis at concierge!). Everything is clean and beautiful, and we felt safe the entire time we were there. It's a small resort, about 20 villas that aren't connected. Each villa has its own pool. It's very easy to feel like you're the only ones there. (There is also a shared pool in the main area if you need a change of scenery....though we never tired of the ocean AND sunset views from our Villa 14.) You can walk into the town of Las Catalinas (down and up a VERY steep hill), but the concierge will gladly drive you in the golf cart. It takes literally a minute. I was very sad to leave Casa Chameleon on the day we headed to the airport. It was the most magical vacation we have ever had, and we hope to be back someday!
