Service is good and the staff is friendly. But food quality is not constant. We found some of the buffet lacking some staples. As an example we could not find avocadoes for our first 5 days... In Mexico. The cenote restaurant should be rated 1/5 at best. It is also a shame that even though there is signage to prevent reservation on chairs and sunbed the policy is not enforced resulting in frustration around the different pool (this is constant on the whole resort group) We tried the Alux and Maiko both pretty good high point for the special dessert at the Alux (which required a wine bottle purchase) low point for the camelado dessert at the Maiko, tasteless and off putting presentation. The hotel is under renovation (which is needed as rooms are dated, but clean and functional) using jackhammers and gas powered tools we basically spent all our day time in the other hotels of the ressort, mainly the Grand Tequila. The jungle setting is pretty calm and nice, lots of birds and iguanas, but also mosquitoes. The shuttle service is nice and works good. Update: Last days of the stay were nice, we tried the Gran Tortuga restaurant, you need to go there if you like meat! One of the shuttle is gaz powered, be sure to sit in the front and not in the ''trailer'' section if you don't want to be breathing and smelling exaust fumes.
