Villa Malfatti in San Giorgio Canavese, open July–November.
Villa Malfatti sits on the Piedmont plains near Turin, where guests arrive through the Canavese countryside and step into a restored Italian residence with manicured grounds.
The villa accommodates up to 100 wedding guests across its main spaces, with an adjacent guesthouse sleeping 15—allowing intimate groups to inhabit the property together for multi-day celebrations.
Its flexible approach to suppliers, civil ceremony coordination, and partnership with regional caterers means couples shape the event rather than conform to preset formulas.
I visited this villa and park for an event where I was able to tour the rooms and learn about the history of the family who acquired the residence and kept it in excellent condition, as well as the story of the opera singer who had it built. During the guided tour, reenactors from a historical group (Nobiltà Savouda) performed as actors and dancers, and one of the ladies played the lady of the house at the time, the singer Teresa Belloc... A magnificent experience! I learned that the Netflix series Lidia Poët was also filmed here.
