Victoria & Alfred Hotel in 8001, open JanuaryNovember.

Built in 1921 as a working harbor master's office at the historic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, this landmark building was meticulously restored and reimagined as a luxury hotel while preserving its original Victorian architecture and colonial-era charm.

Today, it stands as one of Cape Town's most distinctive venues, offering waterfront ceremony and reception spaces with unobstructed views of Table Mountain and the working harbor.

The hotel's authentic period character combined with modern amenities creates a sophisticated backdrop for celebrations of up to 150 guests.

It was a very pleasant experience staying at this hotel. It’s in a perfect location to experience the vibrant Cape Town Waterfront, surrounded by excellent places to eat, drink, and shop. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with good mountain and harbor views if you choose the Mountain Facing rooms. We found the staff at reception, the restaurant, and the valet parking to be particularly friendly. They have a beautifully designed restaurant with a wonderful terrace for enjoying breakfast. If I had to find a fault, I didn’t quite understand the breakfast included with extras for basic items like coffee and eggs, but it doesn’t represent an exorbitant cost. You can enjoy the pool, spa, and gym at the nearby Queen Victoria Hotel. In short, a very good option for accommodation in this charming city.
