This was my second time hosting a retreat at Turf Valley Resort, and it's confirmed what I thought after my first visit: this is a fantastic place to get away, recharge, and focus. The staff has been consistently excellent. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Those little interactions add up over the course of a weekend and really elevate the experience. The property itself is beautifully maintained. Everything feels clean, smells clean, and is in good working order, which says a lot for a resort this size. The guest rooms are comfortable, the beds make it easy to get a good night's sleep, and the bathrooms are spotless. The pool is beautiful, and if you're a golfer, the courses are another highlight of the property. The overall atmosphere has a quiet, upscale feel without being stuffy. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy the scenery, and actually relax. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn't a ton immediately surrounding the resort. That's not necessarily a negative if you're there for a conference, retreat, or golf outing, since it helps keep the focus on why you came. If you do want to venture out, historic downtown Ellicott City is definitely worth a visit. Just don't wait too late in the evening, because many of the shops and restaurants close earlier than you might expect. Whether you're planning a retreat, a weekend getaway, or a golf trip, Turf Valley has become one of those places I'm always happy to return to. After two stays, I'd gladly book a third.
