The Westin Governor Morris,Morristown

We had to take a room in this hotel on 7/4/26 due to a power outage. I called to make sure they had power and air conditioning before I booked and was told yes to both. They lied. The a/c in the room was barely coming out of the vent, didn't cool the room down at all(this was in 100+ degree weather). The front desk did send the engineer up to adjust it but it only nominally helped for 2 hours. When I went down for the 4th or 5th time after midnight to see if anything else could be done, the desk clerk gave me a column fan which marginally helped(she was very sweet). The staff blamed it on the outage but when I checked previous reviews of the hotel, there were a ton of complaints going back to 10 years ago regarding the a/c, basically after Marriott purchased it. So they lied again. It was 4 star prices at a 1 star experience. The food was way overpriced and average at best, my friend got sick from the avocado blt he had, the bacon looked as if it had been through an incinerator. And the breakfast buffet was ridiculously overpriced and just average. The bathroom tub was very slippery, basically a lawsuit waiting to happen, the tub was clogged and the bathroom sliding door wouldn't completely shut. Never stay here, at least not until Marriott decides to repair the HVAC system. I used to come here a lot between 10-20 years ago whenever we would lose power due to storms and when repairs were being done on the house I was renting. Basically before Marriott took it over in 2016, it was awesome then and a true, high quality Westin hotel. That's why I didn't check the reviews first, because we had always had excellent experiences here. If I had checked first this time, I never would have booked the room. The ladies at the front desk were very nice, but that was the only decent thing about the entire stay. We went to the Hyatt house East the next night and had a wonderful experience for a third less cost. It's a 3 star hotel but they have higher customer ratings than this place. Avoid the Westin at all costs, it's a shame because it used to be a wonderful hotel.
