It sits on Yasaka Kamimachi behind the five-storey pagoda of Hokan-ji, with Kodai-ji, Chion-in and the lane up to Kiyomizu-dera inside a fifteen-minute walk, and its garden runs to 6,600 square metres of maple, moss and stone.

No. The Sodoh has no guest rooms, so your party stays in Higashiyama or Gion, both a short walk or a five-minute taxi away, and that range runs from machiya rentals to the Four Seasons.
