Pousada Palácio Estoi - Faro in Faro.

Pousada Palácio Estoi stands apart as a restored 18th-century palace hotel that doubles as a working heritage property, offering couples an authentic Portuguese aristocratic experience rather than a purpose-built event space.

Set in Faro's countryside, this classified historic monument delivers Old World grandeur with modern hospitality across its manicured gardens and ornate salons.

With 4.5-star ratings, the property demonstrates its consistent execution of destination celebrations within a genuinely lived-in cultural landmark.

Pousada Palácio de Estoi – Small Luxury Hotels of the World The palace itself is a beautiful old mansion, full of character and history, and walking through the main building is truly enjoyable. The gardens and common areas reflect the grandeur of the past and are very well kept. The room section, however, feels quite updated and would benefit from some restoration. While functional, it lacks the charm and refinement one expects when staying in such a historic property. Breakfast was amazing, both in quality and atmosphere. A special mention goes to the lady in charge of the breakfast service — she was outstanding, extremely helpful, and genuinely caring, making the mornings a highlight of the stay. The location is not ideal and requires a car, but considering the overall experience, it offers good value for money. A stay with clear strengths, especially in atmosphere, service, and breakfast, despite some shortcomings in the room area.
