How many guests can Meiji Kinenkan hold?+
The shrine ceremony itself takes roughly 40 to 60 people. The reception is a different question: the hall runs 19 banquet rooms, from intimate spaces to Fuji, which holds up to 1,000, so the ceremony is the binding constraint.
Is the ceremony conducted in English?+
No. The website and enquiry forms are in English, but a Shinto rite is performed in Japanese by shrine priests. Overseas couples normally book through a bilingual planner who translates the order of service and briefs the guests beforehand.
Where exactly does the ceremony happen?+
You choose. Hosaiden sits inside the Meiji Shrine grounds, which is the full shrine setting with the forest around it, or Gishikiden in Meiji Kinenkan itself, rebuilt in 2021, where you can hold a Shinto ceremony in Japanese dress or in a Western gown.
What does a wedding here cost?+

Can guests stay on the grounds?+
No, there is no accommodation. Meiji Kinenkan sits in Motoakasaka between Aoyama and Shinjuku, so guests usually stay around Shinjuku or Akasaka and arrive by taxi in ten to fifteen minutes.
