07 · Questions

Asked along the way.

How many guests can Bleston Court hold?+

The Blooming Colonnade banquet room takes 210, which sets the practical ceiling for a reception. The two churches are smaller, so the ceremony rather than the dinner is what usually caps a guest list here.

What is the Stone Church?+

It is a chapel built in memory of Uchimura Kanzo, a Meiji-era Christian thinker, made of alternating stone arches and glass with water running through it and set into the hillside. It is a working wedding chapel, not a museum, and it is why most couples come.

How do guests get to Karuizawa?+

The Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station takes about 70 minutes, and the resort runs a free shuttle from the south side of Karuizawa station every hour. That makes it the easiest mountain venue in Japan to bring a Tokyo guest list to.

What is the best season?+

Late spring and autumn. Karuizawa is a highland resort, so summers are cool by Japanese standards and that is exactly why Tokyo empties into it in August. Winter is cold and quiet, and snow is normal from December to March.

Is there English-language support?+

Hoshino Resorts operates in English across its properties and the area site is published in English, but confirm before you book that the wedding office itself will run your planning in English rather than only the hotel front desk.
