Rated 4.8 out of 5 by Google reviewers, the property offers both ceremony and reception space within a setting where every detail reflects meticulous attention to craft.

I can’t even put into words how special this place is. I stayed for 4 nights and had the most wonderful, peaceful time. It is a culturally and historically authentic experience; the inn has been in the same family for generations. I stayed in both the new and old wings of the inn. They are both beautiful, although I preferred the bathroom and massive wooden soaking tub in the newer room (the old room’s bathroom was a little musty, but the older room was still very charming in that it overlooked the beautiful interior garden). I honestly wish I could live here and miss soaking in the tub / laying in the comfortable futon and watching the rain fall on the trees outside. (Regarding the futon, it was so comfortable that I took pictures of the mattress and duvet brands and am trying to find them in the United States). Every person who works here was so lovely; I spoke at length with multiple members of the staff as well as the manager. They were all warm, welcoming, helpful and good-natured. The food was also amazing - I recommend the 9 course sampler. Lastly, it is centrally located in the heart of Kyoto (walking distance to Potoncho alley - go there for dinner one night) and near some trendy clothing stores and sites. (The first 3 pics are from the newer room, the second 3 pics are from the older room, and the last picture is a corner of the dining area).
