A wine estate in the Baixo Alentejo, bought by the Soares family in 1998 and turned into a working farm with a Relais & Châteaux hotel inside it.
The land grows Alentejo reds and whites, Lusitano horses, black pigs and vegetables, and the kitchen cooks what the farm produces, which is a claim most estates make and this one can prove at the table.
Accommodation is spread across separate houses rather than a hotel block: the Country House, Casa das Pedras with four suites of about 100 square metres each, and Casa do Ancoradouro with seven more, all with private terraces or pools.

How many people can sleep on the estate?+
The Country House holds three suites and seven rooms, Casa das Pedras four large suites and Casa do Ancoradouro seven more, all with terraces or private pools. Together that is enough for a wedding party rather than a full guest list.
Where does the wedding actually happen?+
Ceremonies are held in the vineyards or beside the lake, drinks at the wine bar and on the terraces, and dinner either in the wine cellar or outdoors. The estate is large enough that each part of the day happens somewhere different.
Is there a curfew on the music?+
There are no neighbours within earshot, which is one of the practical reasons couples choose the Baixo Alentejo over the Lisbon coast. Confirm the estate’s own terms, but noise complaints are not the constraint here that they are near a town.
Which airport should guests fly into?+
Faro is closest at roughly one hour twenty by car, and Lisbon is about two hours with far more flights. Most international guests fly to Lisbon and drive down. There is no useful train, so plan cars or a coach.
