Finca La Donaira in Montecorto, open May, July – September.
A biodynamic farm and Lusitano stud on 700 hectares of the Serranía de Ronda, half an hour from Ronda itself and run off its own solar power, its own water and its own kitchen garden.
La Donaira is a Relais & Châteaux member and takes a small number of guests at a time: nine rooms sleeping about twenty people, a spring-fed natural pool, a spa, and horses that are worked rather than kept for photographs.
Weddings here cap at 80 guests, which is the point rather than a limitation.
Ceremonies happen in the fields and the oak woods, dinner is laid on long tables outside, and the food comes largely off the farm.

Asked along the way.
How many guests can La Donaira host?+
Eighty is the maximum for the celebration itself. Accommodation is the tighter constraint: nine rooms sleeping around twenty guests on the estate, with lodging for up to about a hundred more available nearby in Ronda and the surrounding villages.
Does a wedding take the whole estate?+
Yes. Accommodation packages include exclusive 24-hour use of the finca and its facilities, the natural pool and spa included, along with breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks with meals for the guests staying on site.
What is the food like?+
Most of it comes off the farm. La Donaira grows its vegetables, keeps its own animals and works biodynamically, so menus are built around what is ready that week rather than from a fixed card. Tell them about dietary needs early.
How do guests get there?+
Private transfers from Málaga, Seville or Jerez, each 60 to 90 minutes. Ronda is about half an hour away and is where most of the guest list sleeps. The final approach is an unsurfaced track, so hire cars should not be low-slung.
When is the best time of year?+
May, June, September and October. The Serranía sits at altitude so nights are cooler than the coast, which helps in summer, but July and August afternoons are still hot and the countryside is at its greenest in spring.
