If I could give six stars, TEN STARS, I would. My husband and I are from California and we had our destination wedding here in June. It was, in a word, magical. Our guests have talked of nothing else for a month. We are so very grateful we chose the Domaine. And it was affordable!! Pascale, the owner, is truly devoted to making your day(s) a fairy tale. The photos don't do it justice. It is more beautiful, more artistic, more majestic than photos can show. We planned the wedding ourselves and learned a lot, so passing on some details and tips: - Pascale speaks excellent English, and we found her very easy to work with. WhatsApp was perfect for quick questions. Phone calls (over WhatsApp) were best for more detailed conversations. Avoid emails because those can be buried. It's also good to remember (as with all your wedding vendors) that you aren't their only client. Some patience and lots of kindness will get you far! - IMO you can book this place sight unseen. That's what we did! We had family who live locally see it for us, but the first time we actually saw it for ourselves was four hours before the first event! It was a brilliant decision. That of course takes a certain personality and willingness to go with the flow. - Book multiple days if it is in your budget. We rented mid-week for three days and two nights (Tuesday welcome dinner, Wednesday wedding, Thursday brunch). The Domaine should be savored. One night is not enough IMO. - The accommodations at the Domaine are beautiful, comfortable, and set away from the action (ie, quiet). The housekeeping staff is top notch. - For guest accommodations, we rented out Au Bout du Verger and the Ferme d'Armenon. Both quite close, but guests will need transportation to get to/from the Domaine. We rented 9-passenger vans (with guests who were willing to drive them) to do it cheaply, but easiest would definitely be have your guests rent cars. - Pascale offers "turn-key" weddings. If you aren't feeling in the planning mood, after working with Pascale and learning about her care and attention, I would seriously consider her turn-key options in place of a wedding planner or DIY. - It's helpful to know that the venue is well equipped as an event space (tables, chairs, sound system, kitchen, walk-in fridge, etc.). Some elements cost extra, but nothing unreasonable. That said, if you are doing any kind of bring-your-own food and beverage as we did for our welcome dinner, know that the kitchen is BARE BONES. Be sure to ask what equipment the Domaine has and doesn't have. - The Domaine works with preferred caterers. We chose Grand Chemin, which we recommend without hesitation. They are more expensive, but we found them to be a stunning value in the end. We tried to order only what we would need, and we had mountains of fine-restaurant-quality, delicious food. The dinner was outstanding. Their service is top notch. They can also do table decorations which saved us from hiring a separate florist. - DJ Marko comes with the venue. There is no other DJ option. Feel good about this. He is EXCELLENT. He threw any absolutely awesome party. We danced till 3:30AM! He does not speak detailed English, but he's chill, fun, and professional. Use Google Translate to communicate over email and have a WhatsApp phone call (with someone who can translate) for more detailed stuff. You will be in great hands. - Pascale also offers several add-on options. IMO you should chose only the options you see as musts. For us, that was renting the games and boating equipment for all days (highly recommended). - All that said, you will likely need to speak French to plan a wedding in France. A great, fully fluent, France-based, American wedding planner is Ajna at Oui Mon Coeur. She helped us find the Domaine and gave excellent advice early on. - HAVE FUN!! If you have fun, the people you've hired will have fun too. Good luck!
