Château de Nesles in Seringes-et-Nesles.
Château de Nesles rises from the Picardy countryside with commanding views across rolling French farmland and manicured gardens.
This 18th-century stone estate commands 12 hectares of grounds, featuring tree-lined approaches, manicured lawns, and classical architecture that frames both intimate ceremonies and grand receptions.
The château's elevated position provides natural sightlines across the surrounding landscape, creating a distinctive sense of arrival and ceremony.
A private but open castle for visit. Entrance requires a visit to the guardians house and paying 3 euros to enter. The entrance is somewhat confusing as the signage is misleading. Just go through (if unlocked) and follow the signs to the guardians house. He'll explain everything (as long as you can find him). The castle itself is an interesting place. A supplied pamphlet explains the history and you can explore much of the castle though the walls are sealed/closed off. A Tower is explorable and you can go to the top though needs further restoration. Its not a bad castle and very scenic but needs more restoration really to highlight its history. Right now it looks like its been restored to a state where it can be hired out for functions.
