My partner and I chose this hotel for its convenient location right across from the Orpheum Theater (where we were seeing a show). We got a good deal online, and the hotel is affiliated with a national brand (Wyndham). We should have read reviews more closely! The hotel is surreal in that there are parts that have been fully modernized yet feel strange and incomplete, such as the lobby with a large non-functioning bar. But even the somewhat sleek-feeling lobby has a dark, dingy vibe. There are zero amenities as far as we could tell (except for a well-stocked vending machine with medicines and toiletries — no food or drink). Most important, the elevators are barely functional, and the entire place is carpeted with absolutely filthy stained carpets — in both the hallways and our room. In terms of the room interior, the beds were nice, and there were a few modern pieces of furniture. The TV is also a smart TV refreshingly, so it was easy to cast from our devices. And the bathroom had been renovated and was fine. But curiously for a hotel, there are no floor-length mirrors in the room. Just a mirror in the bathroom. Not ideal when you’re a tourist and going out and about. Overall, this is definitely a hard pass for future visits to San Francisco.
