We had a great time at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. The beach is beautiful. Overall, the hotel is clean and maintained really well. It’s starting to show its age, particularly in the room. We stayed in Building 3 at a Premium Level 2-bedroom suite with a partial ocean view. It’s very comfortable and our main issue was finding the light switch after trying multiple ones to engage the lights and condensation in the mornings after closing the partition between the rooms. Restaurant reservations could be a challenge, and with Premium Level they can be reserved in advance by email. I wished there was pool/beach service as we had to make pool bar runs when wanting a drink. Although, there are many “for purchase” drink options, they could have a better base/premium level alcohol offerings. They could also enhance their food offerings by providing quick serve / food truck or similar at the beach/pools. Our group reserved the Private Room at La Comedie for one of our dinners and it was the best dinner all week. The service by Annlly and her crew was spectacular, and the menu incredible. Worth the up-charge. Having access to the Spa water circuit (sauna, cold plunge,etc) with Premium Level was also great, particularly after coming back from golf. Overall, it’s great value and do not immediately have the Barcelo Bavaro Palace on my must stay list for next time.
