An eco-hotel on seven hectares of protected dune and pine above Santa Cruz, built from 2010 by Gonçalo Alves and Marta Fonseca, an hour north of Lisbon on the coast Portuguese surfers use.
Every one of the 15 rooms is different, with a log fire, geothermal heating and a deck or patio, and self-catering villas sit alongside them for larger groups.
Nothing here matches anything else, which is the point: reclaimed wood, hand-built beds, an organic garden that feeds the kitchen, and an infinity pool pointed at the Atlantic.
Weddings are held outdoors on the dunes and lawns with the ocean below, and dinner moves inside to the restaurant when the wind gets up, which on this coast it usually does after dark.

Asked along the way.
How many guests can Areias do Seixo take?+
Third-party venue listings report between 150 and 215 depending on how the grounds are laid out, and the hotel does not publish a single figure. Plan around 150 for a seated dinner and confirm the layout you want with the hotel.
How many people can sleep on site?+
There are 15 rooms plus self-catering villas across the property, with reported sleeping capacity of roughly 150 across the whole site when the villas are included. Taking the hotel exclusively is common for a wedding here.
What is the weather like on this coast?+
Warm and bright from May to early October, with reliable Atlantic wind in the afternoon and evening. Anything light needs weighting, hair plans need to survive it, and a dinner plan that can move indoors is not optional here.
Can guests get to the beach?+
Praia do Seixo and Praia da Mexilhoeira are about ten minutes on foot down from the hotel, and Santa Cruz with its surf schools is a few minutes by car. Ericeira, the surf town, is around 30 minutes south.
How far is Lisbon?+
About 55 minutes from Lisbon airport by car on the A8, which makes it one of the shortest transfers of any coastal venue outside the city. There is no useful train, so plan cars or a coach for the return leg.
