Free wedding websites: what is included and what costs extra

Start with Zola, The Knot or Joy if your main needs are a schedule, RSVP and registry links with no publishing subscription. All three can be considered for weddings with traveling guests; where guests live does not determine whether you need a paid website. Choose by the forms, event invitations, design and communication you actually need.

Free building lets you prepare a draft. Free publishing lets guests use the published website without a website subscription. A trial gives temporary access to a paid service, and may require a payment card. Check what renews, when the trial ends and whether an optional domain renews separately.

Aisle is free to build and preview. Publishing costs $19.99 USD per month after a seven-day free trial with a card required upfront; cancel anytime. Returning subscribers do not receive another trial. Domain purchases are a separate annual charge.

Guest texting on Aisle starts with the first membership payment. Email broadcasts are available during the membership trial. Review guest communication options before making a trial-period sending plan.

Joy lists text messaging among its paid upgrades. Zola and The Knot’s website pages do not establish comparable SMS allowances, so this guide does not treat messaging as unlimited or absent. Their current terms deserve a separate check if messaging is the deciding feature.

Aisle charges a 5% platform fee for guest room payments through the organizer’s connected Stripe account; the organizer can absorb it or pass it to guests. That percentage is not a claim that payment processing is free. Processor charges and the terms applicable to a particular payment are separate.

Three paid months at $19.99 total $59.97; six paid months total $119.94. These are arithmetic examples, not typical customer spending. They exclude annual domain purchases, room-payment fees and any additional design credit. The seven-day trial is separate from the count of paid months.

For a simple website and RSVP form, a free publishing option is the lower subscription cost. Paying may fit when you want Aisle’s connected planning, guest communication and organizer-run room payments. Compare the specific work you would otherwise handle elsewhere, without assuming a monetary saving.

You can cancel Aisle membership from Manage billing in Settings. Membership access continues through the trial or paid billing period. The published guest site stays online and saved data remains available; the dashboard returns to free preview, with publishing, sends and payment management requiring membership. Check separately billed domain renewal settings rather than assuming cancellation stops them.

Keep an external registry if it suits you: link to it from the website, and the registry provider handles purchases and its own terms. Switching website builders does not transfer gifts, balances or existing replies automatically.
