Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana in Bali 80571, open June–October.
Tanah Gajah was originally constructed in 1999 as a private residence before its transformation into a luxury resort by Hadiprana in 2008.
The property underwent extensive restoration to preserve its Balinese architectural heritage while integrating modern hospitality amenities across its 2-hectare grounds in Ubud's cultural heart.
I had such a beautiful stay at Tanah Gajah Ubud — truly one of the most memorable properties I’ve experienced in Bali. What makes this place special is not just the luxury, but the story and atmosphere behind it. You can really feel that it was once a private estate — everything feels intimate, peaceful, and very soulful, not like a typical resort. The villa itself was stunning, modern, and incredibly comfortable. One of the most unique perks was the daily free-flow minibar — three full bottles of gin, whisky, and vodka that get refilled every day. Such a fun and generous touch that really elevated the stay. Service here is exceptional. The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely caring without being intrusive. From the afternoon tea picnic overlooking the rice fields, to sunset cocktails, romantic dinners, and even small details like daily laundry service — everything was handled beautifully. The experiences are what truly make Tanah Gajah stand out. The hot air balloon ride at sunrise was unforgettable, the spa treatments were deeply relaxing, and even simple moments like breakfast overlooking the ducks in the rice fields felt magical. This is absolutely a perfect destination for couples — especially for honeymoons, anniversaries, or any special celebration. It’s romantic, peaceful, and feels very personal. I would return in a heartbeat!
