What an Amalfi Coast wedding costs, and what a package covers.

A wedding on the Amalfi Coast for 70 guests is estimated at about €105,000 for a three-day June weekend at a Ravello or Positano venue, or €1,500 per guest. That is the cost table below at typical figures; at its low and high figures the table totals €64,500 to €176,000. These are modelled planning estimates in euros from spring 2026, not venue quotes.

The estimate covers venue hire, catering and bar, a planner, photography and video, florals, music, guest transfers and paperwork, with Italy's 22% VAT included. It leaves out your own travel, attire and rings and has no line for guest rooms. Ask each supplier whether its quote includes VAT.

Three things move the total most:

• The date. July and August are modelled 25–35% above June.
• The venue. Hire is the widest line, estimated at €15,000 to €50,000 for three days. An exclusive-use weekend is extra, estimated from €80,000 at a historic villa.
• The guest list. Catering and bar, estimated at €18,000 to €42,000 for 70 guests, is the line that moves most with headcount.

The cost to get married on the Amalfi Coast is led by venue hire and catering: together an estimated €54,000 of the €105,000 typical total, just over half.

Venue hire is the biggest line, an estimated €28,000 at typical prices. It is a hire fee, not a room buyout, so the couple pays it in full. The low total has every line at its cheapest and the high total every line at its most expensive.

Amalfi Coast wedding prices start with venue hire: the cost table allows an estimated €15,000 to €50,000 for three days' use.

By type the estimates start lower, and only the private-villa range is stated for a whole weekend, so plan a three-day wedding from the cost table's line.

The historic group includes Villa Cimbrone, Villa Rufolo, Belmond Hotel Caruso and Palazzo Avino in Ravello, and the Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi town. Positano's hotels include Le Sirenuse, Il San Pietro, Villa Treville and Hotel Poseidon. An exclusive-use weekend at a property like Il San Pietro starts around an estimated €200,000.

An Amalfi Coast wedding package includes whatever the venue or planner who wrote it chose to bundle: it is one price for a set of services, quoted per person or per event, and there is no standard list. To compare packages, split each back into the budget lines above and check what it contains.

All-inclusive Amalfi Coast wedding packages

A package sold as all-inclusive is still a bundle someone wrote, so run the same check, and ask whether guest rooms are in the price: Aisle models a guest room on the coast at an estimated $335 to $670 a night in peak season. Per-guest figures to hold a quote against

Aisle's Destination Wedding Cost Index estimates food and drink on the wedding day on the coast at about $350 a guest, with the aperitif, wine, bar, service and tax in, and the venue's hire with that food and drink at about $34,700: modelled estimates in US dollars for 80 guests, across 39 venues. A whole wedding there comes to about $111,000, with most landing between $95,000 and $126,000. The three-day table above counts catering and bar across three events (an estimated €260 to €600 a guest), so hold a venue's per-guest quote against the index and budget from the table.

Ravello is the place to get married on the Amalfi Coast if the ceremony setting matters most. Choose Positano for the cliffside photographs and a smaller wedding on foot, and Amalfi town for a quieter base between the two.

All three town halls hold legal civil ceremonies, at different prices (see the fee table).

You can get married in Positano legally, in a civil ceremony on the town hall terrace, or symbolically at one of its cliffside hotels.

The Comune di Positano holds civil weddings on its town hall terrace at the top of the town, with a tiled hall indoors for bad weather, Monday to Friday from 10am to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Its published 2024 rates for non-residents are €1,000 Monday to Friday and €1,800 on a Saturday, so confirm the current fee with the wedding office. It asks for passports for the couple, two witnesses and an interpreter, and a legalised Nulla Osta.

For a symbolic ceremony and the reception, the cliffside hotels (Le Sirenuse, Il San Pietro, Villa Treville, Hotel Poseidon) have venue hire estimated at €10,000 to €30,000, against €15,000 to €50,000 for three days' use in the cost table, and suit 40 to 80 guests, who can walk between events. Positano is built on stairs, which matters for older guests.

To get married legally on the Amalfi Coast as a foreigner you need a Nulla Osta (a certificate from your own country's authorities that nothing prevents the marriage), your documents translated into Italian with an apostille, and a civil ceremony before the mayor or a deputy with two witnesses. Allow nine to twelve weeks, and ask the town hall for its own document list and deadline: the US Embassy in Italy notes that town halls apply the national law slightly differently.

1. Reserve the date with the town hall. Ravello and Amalfi tell couples to book well ahead, and the US Embassy notes waiting lists in popular towns in May, June and September.
2. Get the Nulla Osta. It comes from your embassy or consulate in Italy, or from the authority at home if your country's law allows. US citizens swear a Dichiarazione Giurata before a consular officer (the Consulate General in Naples for this district), then have it legalised at a Prefettura with a €16 revenue stamp; the embassy suggests Salerno for couples marrying on the coast. For British nationals, GOV.UK says a Nulla Osta is the same as a certificate of no impediment.
3. Prepare your other documents. The US Embassy lists a passport, a birth certificate and proof that any earlier marriage has ended. Italy treats documents from outside the EU as valid for six months from issue.
4. Sign the declaration. Ravello and Amalfi require foreign couples who live abroad to sign a declaration that nothing prevents the marriage at least two days before the ceremony, with an interpreter if you do not speak Italian.
5. Marry, then legalise the certificate. The US Embassy advises getting an apostille on the Italian marriage certificate from the Prefettura.

The embassy's general checklist also includes an Atto Notorio, a declaration sworn by two witnesses before an Italian consul abroad or a court official in Italy. Its Naples page says couples marrying on the Amalfi coast generally do not need one, so check with your town hall first. A wedding performed by a Roman Catholic priest is also legally valid.

The one published price for eloping on the Amalfi Coast is the town hall's civil ceremony fee for non-residents: from €350 in Amalfi to €1,800 on a Saturday in Positano.

Ravello's fees date from 2019, Amalfi's page from 2023 and Positano's from 2024, so confirm before you plan around one. A legal elopement still needs the paperwork above, two witnesses over 18 with photo ID, and an interpreter if you do not speak Italian, who cannot be one of the witnesses.

The best months for an Amalfi Coast wedding are May, June and September: the usable window is mid-May to late June, then mid-September to early October.

Late May and September bring 22–26°C, clear evening light and slightly easier driving on the SS163, because the heaviest cruise-ship crowds have not arrived or have just left. July and August are crowded, with 34–36°C at sea level and little shade, and prices modelled 25–35% above June. In October, storms off the Tyrrhenian can close the coast road with little warning, so plan an indoor option.

An Amalfi Coast destination wedding runs through one airport, Naples (NAP), which is 90 to 120 minutes by road from Positano or Ravello on a good day and about two hours in peak season.

• Flights. Naples has direct flights from most European capitals. From the US east coast, United runs a seasonal nonstop from Newark and most other itineraries connect through Rome. As planning estimates, allow £110–£220 return from London and $800–$1,300 direct from New York in peak season.
• Transfers. The SS163 is too narrow for full-sized coaches along most stretches, so guests move in eight-seat vans: an estimated €120–€220 per van from the airport, eight to ten vans on the wedding day, and €3,000–€9,000 in the cost table for a 70-guest weekend.
• Booking. Book 14 to 18 months ahead. Peak Saturdays at Ravello's best-known venues can go two years out.

The schedule below is a three-night template that works from either town.

For 70 guests, this guide's typical total is an estimated €105,000, against about €119,500 on Lake Como, about €78,000 in Tuscany and about €69,500 on Mallorca, each from that guide's cost table. The coast and Lake Como are the two premium options. All three Italian destinations carry the same heavy paperwork, and a legal wedding on Mallorca needs one of you to live in Spain or be a Spanish national.

An Amalfi Coast wedding is right for you if the ceremony setting matters most, your guest list is between 40 and 100, you can book 14 to 18 months ahead, and you can spend an estimated €70k or more on a three-day weekend for 70, against a typical total of €105,000. It is the wrong choice on a mid-range budget, for more than 120 guests, or for a July or August date.
